What video editing software do YOU use?

I do gaming videos so I don't need to many effects so I stick with Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum. It is significantly cheaper than Pro and it has most of the same features.

Somebody else who uses the cheaper version of Sony Vegas? Me too! Heard people quoting £££s to get started when all anyone really needs is this!

I have used sony vegas and adobe premier pro.

They both seemed to give me the same output quality so I personally stick with sony vegas as its very easy to use and I have spent a lot of time with the software.

I started off editing in Vegas 8 and haven't found a better editing program to date. I am using the current 13 Pro version. I still believe it's the fastest and more efficient editor out there (though it does tendy to be glitchy sometimes when working with a lot of seperate image files and transitions.

In the past I've used Premiere and After Effects, for various reasons, Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer.

Out of all of them, I'd say my least favorite is Final Cut Pro 7. I really, really dislike that program, but I needed to use it for my apprenticeship. I'm flexible. Honestly, I think it's just the preference of the editor. They all do just about the same thing, just with different buttons and set ups.

I have been using Sony Vegas Pro 10 for the longest time now. I thought I had to upgrade to the latest version when I got my new action- cam, but I was surprised it just hacks away at the 50mbps footage with some new codec just like it did with the previous 25mbps footage.

I spent ~500 dollars on it when it was new, and I think it has been well worth my investment! I'll continue to rock it till something comes out that I can't edit with it anymore.

I started on Final Cut Studio 2, but I jumped ship when they went with the new Final Cut X and now use Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (CS5.5). I'll be getting the new Mac Pro soon, then I'll jump on the new Adobe Cloud system.

I've learned nearly everything; from Magix video pro and Vegas to FCPX, Premiere pro and Lightworks. Right now I'm on Lightworks which I love but it's missing all the plugins, so I'll play back to FCPX as soon as the new Broadwell Macbooks arrive.

The Adobe Suite is the best in my opinion. That dynamic link makes special effects and editing so seemless. Before that, I was a Final Cut guy :-)
