What video camera do you record with?

There is a T4i? Is that better than the T3i?

Yes, its called the Canon Eos 650D in the EU I believe - pretty sure its the T4i in the USA.
The thing I liked about the T4i is that it continues to autofocus as you record - with most other DSLR's you have to manually focus and then record - it doesnt autofocus as the video is actually recording. Its not the fastest AF out there, but I findits pretty good enough for YouTube vids - check my most recent videos out - all shot with the T4i.

You can get it with a standard 18-55mm lens I think, but the autofocus lens can be heard in the recorded video unless you are using an external mic.
I paid a bit more for a STM lens - these lenses are completely silent when focusing so the recordedvideo wont pick up any noise at all.

Other things that make it really nice for YouTube videos etc include the screen on teh camera - you can move the screen around in any direction so you can see what you are recording - even if your recording yourself etc. Its alsoa touch sensitive screen.

Recording quality is great. I use an external mic and a light attached to the top fo the camera. It also has HDMI and Im thinking of buying a small 7" screen to connect to it, so I can see a live view of exactly what Im recording nice and easily.

Check out my channel - I have an unboxing video of it ;)

Thanks for the information, I checked out the unboxing video and I was wondering if you were planning to do a full review of the camera, actually using it and stuff. If not, you should do that :D

I may actually look into that, especially now that Ive been using it for a while!
Im no photographer etc, but I guess I could review the basics that most beginners would look out for!

I use my mom's phone (xD), she has a Galaxy SII with awesome quality.

Exactly how I started. At first I had an old camcorder, then started using an iPhone, before I actually went a step further when YouTube was making me some decent money.
I let my YouTube earnings pay for any recording/sound/lighting equipment I may need. It's like reinvesting what you have made back into your videos to make them even better. In business you do the same - reinvests profits back into the business to ensure it grows.

How long did it take you to get everything rolling? Like, how long did you wait to start investing in better equipment?
