I use a Canon 650D, I want a 70D for the smooth continuous video autofocus but I have a feeling I would be better waiting until the technology is better implemented into DSLRs and wait a few years before upgrading.
Canon XA20 for me. It's not a DSLR and it's ridiculously more expensive than the entry level DSLRs but the form factor works better for me. Although I've wanted a DSLR for a long time primarily for photography, I could have ended up just getting one of those and using it for video but all the extra attachments it would have needed to get good sound and stuff would have jacked up the price and made it awkward for casual videography. At least the XA20 can shoot native 24fps in 1080p in cinema mode too. I've been getting good picture out of it since I've been learning some more tricks and doing some slight color correction. Finally figured out my problem with shallow DOF looking ugly was because of Autofocus. I let it focus on me then turn it to manual. Fixes that problem and the bokeh is much better.
