What Tripod(s) Do You Own?

Thats why I am willing to invest in this one, I have read people having the same model for fifteen years and its still working flawlessly, the Beike one I bought broke within two years and cost around £80-90, I would rather invest quite a bit and have it last than have to buy one every so often and have it all add up.
the only thing that i want to do ( because of the years) is buy a new head.. more updated one. its a bit old dated , but the legs are the crucial part. also for outside.. photgraphy.. cheap ones will be wobely, while these you can add weight, though they already weigh around 2-3 kilo.

I use a SOLIGOR T157 cheap thing I bought a few years ago but still works fine for what I need it for.

I made my first 80 videos using a good quality small (all alloy) travel/desktop tripod that also can be used as a hand grip. I still have it. The legs fold/fit inside the base.

I needed a full sized tripod and I wanted all metal (no plastic), and I wanted good quality, and I wanted cheap - less than $50.

So I bought a second hand one off of Craigs List.

I got a 1970's Yashica duralium tripod. It's fantastic.

Plenty of real good old tripods to be had cheap if you look around. Most have done very little work.

Much better than the Chinese crap everyone sells now - in the cheap price range.

Full size tripod is definitely the way to go.

It doesn't have to be heavy, as digital cameras are pretty light.

I've just got a £15 one from Argos (you can just find it on there if you really want to see it).

It's nothing special but it can hold the weight of most DSLR's and it's got a level on it so I know the camera is straight.. if I need anything more I just borrow a TriPod from college :')

I highly recommend these two if they suit your needs.

Sony GP-AVT1
I love how this tripod converts from a mini-tripod (very stable) to a pistol-grip tripod that is so easy to hold in a natural position.

Joby GorillaPod
I have used this highly adjustable tripod for many of my videos.

As for a fully extending tripod, I don't have the name/model number but it has a pistol grip adjustment under the camera so that I can adjust it to a wide array of positions.

I have an older Bogen 3036 with 3047 tripod head. It's same as the Manfrotto 475. I bought it used about 20 years ago. It's great for photography, but needs a good fluid head for video purposes. With all the video we're doing, I'm considering investing in a video tripod/fluid head since they have features geared for video that still photography tripods don't have.

This is the basic tripod at YouTube Space: http://www.amazon.com/Cartoni-Alumi...=sr_1_5?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1385848281&sr=1-5
Overkill for most people, but compared to my current setup, it saves a ton of time when it comes to moving locations, so it's actually worth the extra cost.
