Thanks for checking out this post, I was was just wondering...

- What software do youtube gamers use to edit their videos e.g. once recorded on their Hauppage or Elgato whatever they use, what software is recomended to edit, and then upload to youtube.

- Also how do youtube gamers do live commentaries and what I mean by that is how do they talk and play at the same time whilst recording.
 
If using a PC, the best software is Sony Vegas. If using a Mac, the best software would be Final Cut Pro X.

With live commentaries, you need to have your recording software for your game capture device on and also a voice recording software like Audacity. You press record on both and later on in your editing software you line both the gameplay and your voice so it's in time. However, the Elgato has a feature on it's software where you can use your mic to add live commentary without lining it up. The video will end up with your gameplay and your voice all in one :)
 
Yes the main software for video editing on PC is Sony Vegas. I also use Adobe After Effects :)
