What should i get paid for exclusive video content ?

I need some advice, if i was in talks with a decent website that wanted me to create original exclusive content for them, what should i really be asking for ?

I'm out of my depth here and really didn't expect opportunities like this to come up and only really ever though about uploading to youtube. Is there anyone on here who has experience in freelancing as a video maker or anything ? i just need a little advice so if it gets as far as that point i dont end up under selling myself or over selling myself

I'd say 1.5 times whatever money you make of an average video of yours would be a good way of measuring that

Lol nothing then because i dont monetize my content XD to be fair the opportunity alone is a reason i would do it for free because our channel is new and this could get our content out to an extremely big audience. But if they start talking about money etc i dont want to look like an idiot because it might make them back out or lose interest because they will think we don't know enough about the industry etc etc I just want to make funny videos and entertain people and this is seriously an unbelievable opportunity and im a bit worried that it will end up going no where at the moment

Are you asking what you should ask as a rate?
When I freelanced as an Editor/Videographer I wold ask anywhere from 70 - 90 dollars and hour. With a 2 hour minimum. That is standard at least here in The D.C. area. Now if it was a good client and say it took me 3 hours to get done I would normally just say it was 2.. But you need to feel that out. I am not sure what the price range is in your area, perhaps you can go to a site like mandy.com and figure out what people are asking in your area.

If it's a website where you'd get a lot of exposure and your channel isn't big then I'd do it for free too. Good luck with it

If it is a big enough website and they came to him they should be willing to pay.. You don't want to get a reputation of doing things for free, cause when you get to the point where you need to pay bills and say hey guys i need to charge you this time.. they might say well you did it free last time.. And then go looking for someone else.

Cheers for that, To be fair i would do the videos for free anyway i just dont want them thinking im some walkover or actually thinking less of me because i will do it for free. If they offer to pay me i may even ask for something else instead like maybe links in their actual news articles or some sort of shout outs instead just because i would prefer that more then just money.

Woah what website? It really depends on the size of the website.

This is exactly why i wanted some advice :) i don't want them seeing us as some sort of amateurs who they can just get free bees off, I will do it for them for free if they ask but i will only do that if they agree to advertise and promote us as well so we mutually gain from it.[DOUBLEPOST=1372089564,1372089367][/DOUBLEPOST]

I wont say right now, if every thing goes through and we get it all sorted ill let everyone know on here :) And i dont think it will be well known over seas, they have the same kind of comedy style as me which is probably why they want us to work with them.

Its not a world wide known website like youtube XD but its a big enough website to basically slingshot us to above 20k subs within a few weeks if we did it

So charge an amount that is not giant, but not so small they think you don't know what you are doing!
