Yeah, that's the case with webcams. Your best best is to record to a new folder if the option exists and keep the folder open to delete bad takes as they happen so you don't have to search through the files.

Personally, I use iMovie 11 but that's because i'm too cheap at the moment to get any of the bigger programs. I'm going to be getting final cut pro x with motion 5, that seems to be pretty good or adobe after effects cs6. I would advise either one of these choices for you.
