What Partners Do for Dummies, please

David Stoll

Not to be taken seriously
Hey. I do not monetize, as I am a very small YouTuber and YouTube is just a fun passion. However, I was recently contacted by a Partner (FilmSection--I have read the threads here), and I realized that I don't even know why or why not someone would work with a Partner. While I am not ready to go in that direction at all, I am curious: What do they actually do? I know they supposedly promote your channel or videos, but I am not sure I get this whole thing at all. Thanks, much!

Usually people join a network because they offer features like music, growth tools, extra ways to earn more, and YouTube support (which YouTube only offers to large creators). It really all depends in what you are looking for.

They're called networks not partners FYI

My network partner made my banner, helped me find the best upload times, promoted me on their twitter with a 15k following, and I can call my representative or email about any questions I have

They don't do jack but take your money and tell you lies. They used to offer music, channel branding (banners etc), customizable thumbnails etc. That was the allure. Now youtube gives all that for free. I honestly have NO idea why anybody would join now unless you are a gamer. I don't understand gamers but it seems they NEED to be in a partnered for some reason. I joined my network just before youtube decided to give everybody everything I was joining the network for. It has been 2 freaking years of giving away my money and I can't wait for it to end. Come on December!

Thanks for this!
