What microphones do you guys use and why do you like it?

Could you explain what a mumble server is? it sounds like something from minecraft or something aha

I use the same headset as you, but what's mumble ?

It's a VoIP. Voice Over Internet Protocol. Anyone familliar with MMO's will recognize it as Vent, or TeamSpeak. Basically it's a server that people connect to and they can all talk in it. You can also record in it. Mumble has great sound optimization which makes my mic sound really good. You can check out my channel videos for some examples. (Except the "What kind of channel is this?" That was camcorder recorded)

As well, you can check out the Mumble website. If you pay up in advance it's like $2 a month to own a server, so it's a nice alternative to buying an expensive top end quality microphone.

The thing with microphones, unlike normal products the amount of money you way doesn't mean its going to be better or worse, really when you buy a mic you're paying more for whatever special features that mic has rather than the actual audio quality of the mic

This is very untrue. A $50 mic is invariably going to be of less quality than a $350 one. This is true whether you're talking condensers, lavs, or shotguns.

The zoom h1 is a handy recorder which you have to pair audio and video during editing. lavalier microphone are those small ones you can clip to your shirt and they can be connected to the handy recorders. then there are the shotgun mics.
