What makes Channel art good?

What do you guys think looks good on channel art. And whose channels have your favourite channel art?

I think something simple and clear work really good something like mine. One of my favorite channel art is Yogscast Martyn's.

It really depends on the user, or viewer. For me, I enjoy simplistic channel art, something that isn't too in your face about things, but shows off what you're trying to show.

4things necessary in my opinion are, Channel name, Image, Twitter name & colour scheme.

I prefer minimalist designs. I also think that using drop shadows is a must in most cases, it adds depth and is easier on the eyes.

I like when channel arts are nice, simple and unique. No shining unreadable text or paint splatters everywhere, just keep it nice, simple and clean

I think a good channel art is simple and clear. It gives some info about your channel and what type of vibe you're giving off. So I say go for a nice, cool, not-overly-saturated look.

I agree, I don't think channel art plays much importance unless it tells people what you do on your channel if it's defined or just shows of your personality. I think great thumbnails are more important to get views over channel art myself.
