he's what I think you need:
1 - a base audience helps the initial boost (whether through promotion like Reddit or from a sub base)
2 - the overwhelming majority of that first group must watch all the way through, and love every second of it. Leaving likes and comments.
3- it has to be so dang funny/weird/interesting that they will share it with all their friends.
4- YouTube will pick up on this, and start boosting its discoverability and suggested spots. If it does well there, it will keep moving it up and up and maybe even to "trending".
5 - the most important part is that it KEEPS its momentum for as long as possible. Once most in your niche have seen it, its going to peter off to a slow rate again. If it is something everyone and their dog would enjoy (like Charlie bit me, or waffle falling over) then its likely to go viral. (as in 20m views in a week viral)
