I've been testing my phone and the household camera for a few days and I'm not really satisfied with the quality. It's a FUJIFILM FinePix S4430 and its a good camera, but I kinda want a camera for myself.

Well there are some questions before the answer, once there is no camera which is perfect for every situation.
1 The budget. How much can you afford? (do you have extra money for microphones etc?)
2 What videos do you want to create? (vlogs, unboxings, travel videos etc)
3 You are going to record yourself?

Generally I would suggest a camera with flip screen, the ability to record at least at 1080p, and with a microphone port.
BUT
The camera is not the most important. Start with what you have and then your needs are going to guide you. Do not spet money that you will regret at the future! ( I have spent a lot of them stupidly and with no results)

I went and bought a Canon EOS Rebel T6 and it wasn't quite the quality I was hoping for. Moral of the story, DO YOUR RESEARCH. My camera isn't a bad quality overall, but to get the kind major youtubers use will require thousands of dollars.

1) Probably around $200-500 I'm not planning to buy something right now.
2) Vlogs or just Face Cam videos
3) Yeah

My opinion is to choose something with a flip screen and with a port for external microphone. If there is no port buy a microphone and sychronize it on your pc (you can do it even with the windows movie maker). My opinion is to start with the Fujifilm that you already have and play with the light (write your videos next to a window etc). As Daniel write before you can spent a lot of money and then still not be happy. (sorry for my english :) )
