Okay, so DEEP THINKING TIME! What keeps you going on Youtube? I'll be honest and say that I have times when I think "what's the point?" Why am I doing this? I could be doing other things?

I guess maybe it affects me more than others about the time I put into the videos (not playing down anyone in the slightest, every type of content is hard to create). With my skits in particular like my Man of Steel and "Laser shooting duck president" skits, they take ages of planning. Between scripting, to planning, to getting crew, to editing and adding effects, it usually takes 3 days for me to get a good skit up. With my weekly upload schedule, it becomes a struggle for me to constantly put up the quality content which I believe people enjoy the most (which is the skits). And then I think... why am I struggling... this is just a foolish pipe dream......

And then I flush the toilet XD

I've said it before in a lot of my posts, and I'll say it again. I make youtube videos because I LOOOOVVVEE film-making :-D Looking at a finished piece and saying "I did that". Allowing people to experience things through film. Making them laugh, cry, feel scared, empathy etc. ITS AWESOME!!
I really believe that film is a portal into the imagination, but it doesn't prevent me from thinking whether or not its good enough :-/
I know I have a long way to go, and I think that its my passion and love for the art that has brought me this far. So here is a question after all the franticly changing monologue.

WHAT KEEPS YOU GOING??

After all the doubting moments you have, what ultimately brings you back up again to continue making videos?

Is it because its fun? (this is probably case for most)
A sense of accomplishment and or owner ship? (I DID THAT!!)
Stubborness? (I will not give in)
A passion for what you do? (I love doing this!)
A hope to become famous? (I want Be (insert celebrity here))
A way to get money? (Money money money... You got a lot of digging miner)

The ultimate question on youtube? What will you answer? :-D
 
It's a pretty common question. If you truly love to make videos and enjoy that feeling of satisfaction when you make one, then it comes easier. Considering other things I could be doing instead, I would probably spend YouTube Time doing something that wasn't as productive. Even though I write, film, and edit weekly, I still find alot of time to hang out and get stuff done.
 
Yes, I enjoy this, but I have gotten down. Usually, I just sit and think for an hour or two and I just let my mind wander and I'll usually just get myself motivated again. Also, the fact that I have come so far, and that I can't just give up. If I give up now I will throw away an opportunity I will probably never get again. I need to keep going, and I know that the end result will please me. I guess I'm working for a mix of all those things. I have started SOO many projects and such and I almost NEVER follow through with things! It's a terrible habit, and so I am trying to prove to both other people and myself that I can do it.
 
So even though recently I have been having exporting problems with Final Cut Pro X I still keep going because its fun and I love doing it! (Also I just bought a $400 camera...) I mean sure I really want to make a living off of this and have a huge audience! But even when people at school, in the comments etc. Make fun of my videos I keep going because I know that one day I may be living off of this website. I mean hell I got a role in a commercial because of my channel!
 
I keep on doing what I'm doing because 1 I'm good at it. 2. I know I can do what I want to do because I've done it before. 3. If I don't then people will yell at me =(

Really? I've got work off the website as well. Mostly Voice Acting and stuff like that, but never paid! What commercial did you work on? :-D[DOUBLEPOST=1391362982,1391361954][/DOUBLEPOST]

Having the support of a family is a brilliant thing to have when making content! They'll always be there for you :-D Do your kids watch your content?

I know so many people who go through the same thing, I have as well! But the fact you start your projects is a step in the right direction. Back when I was in Grammer School, some students would talk of these amazing ideas they have but they would never put the effort into to even start them. I so wish that there where more people who would act on ideas :-) Hope you end up finishing those projects! Link?

The affection of many people is something that is sought out for :-D I wish you the best of luck with your goal and thanks for the response! I would have expected most would have just been I like making videos, but that is quite interesting :-)
