Mine is a weird one...
On my old channel I spent, I dunno, about 30 hours on a top 10 video. Thought it was awesome, thus, started posting it to forums to get the word out. (Not this forum, though, do don't bother looking.) Let's just say I didn't get the reception I wanted. I'm going to QUOTE exact things that were said.
"Jesus wept, that's not a voice for audio recording.Please. Never do that to words, ever again."
"Your voice, no offense, isn't the best for recording. Mine isn't either.
For 02 theme, why did you use the SSBB remix of it while showing gameplay from the N64 game (Though the part of the screen that shows you vitality and stuff is different. Why is that?)? You could have at least said you preferred the SSBB version over the original... or at least mentioned that it wasn't the original...
But 02 battle, as a whole, is a very recognizable song in the Kirby franchise, but honestly, I could think of many ones that I prefer.
GOLDEN SUN IS AWESOME!!! Good choice.
Overall, it's okay. Nothing special though."
The weird thing is, is that the SECOND quote was the person who got to me. Not the first person. As the second guy wasn't a troll, and it was legitimate criticism. And the criticisms were true...
For a bit after reading that, I honestly wanted to throw in the towel, and just say "screw it." and quit YouTube. But you know what I did? The exact opposite. I bought a new Blue Yeti microphone for better quality, I now write out scripts so my words flow better, and I started a new channel to get away from the badness that was my old channel.
One month later, I'm now at four, quality videos, 35 subscribers, and 800 views. After making the change, I feel a lot better about my channel and my YouTube experience is much better.
Like I said, the thing I'm most proud of is weird...
