What is your go to lens? DSLR users

What lens do you find is your go to lens when you are recording video?

For me it is my Canon 28mm 1.8 mainly because of it being a little wide and being able to shoot with a larger aperture is great especially when you dont have great lighting indoors. If I didn't have that with me it would be the 18-55mm kit lens because its so versatile even though its not the greatest, it does the job each time.
 
I just got my new Sigma 8-16mm and it's a beast of a lens for architecture and interiors, super wide and super sharp! Then I also like my 50mm prime for portrait shots or low light situations and my go-to lens for zoom shots is my 70-200mm L-series lens.

Which do you find you use mostly for video? What are you using in your signature vlog?
 
Pentax 50mm 1.7 prime for most stuff, but for vlogs and things where I need to be close up, the stock 18-55mm (Which I plan to upgrade to a prime)

Edit: Forgot to mention I use it via an adapter, I prefer old glass (cheap, sturdy and great quality)
For the price of one modern lense I can get up to 5 really good vintage ones :)

It totally depends on what I want to shoot, if I'm in an abandoned building exploring things I will use my wide angle so I can get the full spaces in the frame, while for vlogs I will use something more narrow like my 50mm f1.8 prime.

I see how that would work there especially with wanting everything in the frame. I really want to get a proper video tripod head because my current one I cannot pan with properly. I want a really wide lens some day too :D

Well the Sigma 8-16 is like super wide, I just tested the 18mm side on my 18-55 kitlens and compared it to the 16mm side of the 8-16mm and the difference is huge. So then the difference between the 16mm side and the 8mm side is very big. I will go out today to do some new test shots with the 8-16mm, will post them in the photography thread tonight!

Sweet I will check them out :D I would love to go to the top of a massive hill at sunset and do some pans with a really wide lens.

Do you use a converter yourself? I havent really looked into trying that, theres been loads of decent looking lenses on Gumtree that I would have wanted and cash generators :D
