For me it was allways crucial to think of youtube as a social network.
It is not only about making videos it is also about beeing a audience member for others. This includes commenting. But never, ever comment in a way like "Nice Vid, take a look at my channel" allways comment with a opinion about the content of the other Youtubers vid. Most likely someone will share this opinnion and will klick on your name, bam! Possible new Subscriber!

I mostly comment on Videos about topics simmilar to my channel.
