What is the best way to gain solid subscribers?

I don't think I can really add to much else on here.
Everyone already pretty much summed it up.
It never hurts to do some social media advertising to get more people to see your content, to get more people to watch to keep coming back but... that of course is kinda obvious.
Just keep doing what you love and eventually people will take notice (I can't say I have a lot of subscribers but I really do believe people will eventually take notice in due time if you keep doing what you love)

It is pretty hard to get subscribers who will always come back again and again, just keep producing really good videos and interacting with them when they message you and leave you comments :)
 
I think sub 4 sub is what you want because in order to have a really solid subscriber, you need to do the things you want your subscribers to do to you, back to them. So you and your subscriber will be helping each other. But if you want to do this, make sure that your sub is making the same type of videos as you.
 
Quality and variety of content is important. Posting a video every day is too many IMHO.

Interact with and be interested in people and their comments, especially regulars. Now with Google+ a channel can become a lot more like a chat room.

Delete any low hit videos to keep the quality level up.

Post in HD 1080p - the viewers love it and the widescreen format , especially with large monitors being widely used these days.

Filter all comments, to keep the jerks out and the comment quality high.
