What is the best software for making a high quality logo

I have been trying to look into many different types of software for the best one to make my channel logo. I find that they all cost relatively the same, so I am at a loss. What is the best software when it comes to making a channel logo?
 
Well, just about all software can make high quality stuff, but I agree with the guy above. Consider Gimp if you're experienced, or Paint.NET if you're new.
 
I am experienced in photoshop as far as some categories, I just never gave it a thought to use it for a logo. Thanks guys, I appreciate it
 
Definitely Photoshop.

If you don't want to buy it, you can always get a trial. That should give you enough time to make a logo.
 
Photoshop! Because lets you do soo much, but if you are looking to add cool effects or something i would go with Cinema 4D personally for me its long to learn it but its worth it what you produce in the end :)

I learned after effects. I don't think the time to learn software is a problem lol
 
I like Photoshop! If you don't want to buy the CS 6 Version you can get ^the Photoshop/Premiere Elements Bundle, that's a good deal, especially if you're still a student! :D Other than that...yeah, like Scobalula said, I've heard positive things from GIMP!
