What is the best editing software to use?

I have my screen recorder which can do fade in and fade out and cutting parts of videos. All of the basics. What is the next step up?

I'm also kind of amateur at editing and trying to learn more about it, so s it easy to understand?
Most frustrating thing to learn but once you learn it, it's easy. I still look at tutorials from time to time but don't let that scare you off. It's a steep learning curve but it's powerful, renders clear and fast, and never freezes up. Camtasia and CyberLink PowerDirector would freeze up on occasionally and Camtasia almost made me smash my laptop. Whatvever you do, don't get Camtasia.

I'd recommend a lynda.com subscription for learning purposes. Best $25 I could spend (monthly) and they have tons of other training videos as well.

Corel videostudio, is a pretty professional video editor, and it is very cheap on amazon. And it is very easy to use :)

Look at x5 or x6

If you're looking for an editor that is easier to learn you might be better off sticking with Sony Vegas Pro. It's easy to grasp the basics. I would recommend Premiere Pro but there is a much larger learning curve with it.

If you are going to get a top tier video editing program, you're definitely going to have to learn how to use it. The easiest programs also do the least. It's not that difficult, but you'll just have to look up basic tutorials when getting started.
