What is it like being a big Youtuber.

I have 3,000 comments in the last 30 days. No, I don't reply to each one. I have nurtured a community and everybody doesn't need a "thanks for commenting" every time.

Yes, people can message me through the YouTube inbox but comments take first priority. In my situation, I want people to be posting PUBLIC comments so EVERYBODY can learn/participate from the interaction. People can also contact me through Facebook.

"Do you feel like your videos deserve more views than the ones getting 100 views?, if so why?"

I don't 'deserve' anything. But I do know that I have dedicated the better part of two years of my life to earn a spot in the top 30 of my segment.

Allright, that sounds perfectly reasonable.
Though do you recognise some people commenting?

Though do you recognise some people commenting?

Yes, I recognize many of my regulars. I also have my YouTube settings to email me with every single comment. I do this so that I can monitor the channel, no cussing, and make sure that everybody is being respectful. No trolls either. I don't tolerate any shenanigans.

Because I recognize the regulars, I definitely make an effort to reply to somebody who doesn't post often or is new.

I read every single comment as it comes to my email inbox then I delete most of them. Some I save because I want to reply. Otherwise, I frequently go to my YouTube inbox and click on the COMMENTS link. Then, one by one, I click on the "See all comments" link and see what I want to respond to. That also helps me keep track of spammers.

I watched your videos, hilarious and entertaining,do you play on NA server? If so,i hope you will consider a space in your friend list for me? :p

Hello everyone out there, recently I've wondered what it must be like for channels that are much bigger than my own. And I thought perhaps smaller channels are thinking this as well, even though I only have about 21k subs which isn't that much in the Youtube world, I wanna try to bring you insight on how it is for me running a channel.

I would also like to see some of the bigger guns on yttalk touch on a few topics:

1: Fan interaction: Is it possible for you to reply to a majority of comments?, do you miss alot of messages?, can you recognise fans?

2: Messages: Can people easily get in contact with you?, can anyone message you through Youtube?

3: Do you feel like your videos deserve more views than the ones getting 100 views?, if so why?

I'm gonna try to answer some of theese questions myself:
First of all I try to reply to as many comments as I can, but not even 10% of them show up in my inbox. So due to my large(r) amount og videos, I can't reply to nearly as many as I'd like to. I do however very much recognise fans, ESPECIALLY on their avatars.

Anyone can message me through Youtube, and I always reply (usually within 1 hour since I have my phone with me everywhere)

Unless people aren't working hard on their videos (fx they make low quality videos) I don't feel like mine deserve to be higher ranked at all. I genuinely believe that if someone works hard and makes good videos, they deserve the views just as much as I do. However I've still been on Youtube for years, I don't think someone who's been here for a week deserves the same growth that I do.

That's my 2 cents about it, Wreckless Eating ijustine PeterCoffin take it away
Nice post bro...It would be nice if they answered...I would like to hear what they have to say! I'm trying to get up there myself! :D
Great channel you have by the way!

ahhh nooooooooooooo :'(
btw,did one of your videos went ''viral''? Because i see you as a sucess on the youtube business thingy, and am very curious to know how you get the sucess :)
Check out my thread called "The small stay small, the big get bigger" it explains everything.

1. Yes. If you ask a question, we do our best to answer it. If it's just a generic comment, it doesn't always get a reply. If you say we suck, we usually agree with you :). We have a lot of regulars and we recognize nearly all of them. It comes in handy in case we need to take out a restraining order :)

2. Yes, but we try to get people to ask questions in the youtube comments or on social media to get the fastest reply. Our youtube inbox gets so much spam that it's a pain to filter out the real stuff.

2. A video deserves as many views as our fans will give it. Nothing more and nothing less. If it gets more views than someone with a smaller channel, then it deserved those views because we took the time to build up our fanbase to get those views.

I never experienced it before, and probably most likely (along with most other youtubers) will never, but from what I can derive from is that they have a lot of comments on their videos, lots of PM's, tons of views on their videos, ratings, and all. It would be hard for them to go through a sea of comments that is just pouring in and all. Also, having a large following that will watch your back for you :)
