What is it and why we need it

Once upon a time, they offered numerous perks that were difficult, if not impossible to get if you weren't in one.

Nowadays, almost everything they offer (or something similar) could be had for either free or at a minimal cost.

For the average channel, I don't see anything they offer that is worth the 10-40% of income they charge.
well they can help your channel grow :) i need that right now

No, they don't.

They will not promote you, get you more views, or find you more subscribers.

They offer some more tools and a better YouTube dashboard to give you more information, but they don't do anything to help you grow. That is completely up to the channel itself.

If a better dashboard and better tools mean that much to you, download and use TubeBuddy, an excellent, free, YouTube plugin.

Thanks for the mention! Many of our tools are free but many are paid only too. BUT - email me: phil@tubebuddy.com for a free, unlimited, extended trial. I like hooking up friends at YTTalk

I agree. I have read multiple MCN contracts and even though there is something mentioned about promotion, my overall conclusion was that they can choose what to do. If it's not specified how and when they will promote you, then they can ignore you. Also you have to wonder whether the fact that they didn't promote you would help in regard of terminating the contract before term has ended, but on other hand they could just tweet a post on the last day.

I have been using your free version for quite some time now and it's nice. Definitely recommend for new YouTubers.

Many Networks have their own channel for promoting their members on YouTube. They'll show clips or segments of various channels and list all of the details in the description.

What they don't tell you is that the vast majority of views on those videos come from other network members simply looking to see if their video was posted.

The same could easily be said about a Facebook or Twitter mention... as it's typically only the members of said network that would be following them anyway.

im sure most of are bad but ive heard about two or three serious ones :) so idk but im not thinking of joining atm at any network. i just need to build up my c channel. Thanks for the tips guys :)
