What is it and why we need it

Okay so i was reading a little bit about networking in youtube :O i got confused what exactly is networking , how does iit work and how can i join one ? :)

You can join one by meeting subscriber/views requirements (often per month), networks are designed to assist you with monetisation and branding of channels and also providing benefits such as royalty free music libraries and other things.

Haha networking isn't something that you "join" necessarily, unless you mean a network. Networking is talking to other YouTubers and basically making friends. A network on the other hand is a group that is supposedly there to help open doors and provide you with services, in return you offer them percentage of the money you make from your videos.

There's a good list of them in another thread.

You can go to them, sometimes they will come to you. They exist for smaller channels, although the general concensus is to build your channel first before joining networks.

Some of them tend to lock you in into really long contracts (3+ years) and give really bad revenue share/ customer support. You should read the sticky post about how to choose a YouTube network and use the search button.

no one said its needed :) i just head for networks and i was uncleard lol . Why is not a good idea to join one ?

Once upon a time, they offered numerous perks that were difficult, if not impossible to get if you weren't in one.

Nowadays, almost everything they offer (or something similar) could be had for either free or at a minimal cost.

For the average channel, I don't see anything they offer that is worth the 10-40% of income they charge.
