Let's skip editing, sound, cameras and all the normal stuff. What apps/software or unique tools do you use in your production? Have a good work flow? share it!

For one of my current let's plays I'm using a Trash Can Lid to use as an Astronauts helmet if that's the sort of thing you mean :P

Other that I need coffee when editing, I use pen and paper for my Witness puzzle game playthrough and for writing down ideas when they pop up. I also got some post-it with some dumb quotes written down on them. As in "HAVE FUN!!" It's a thing you shouldn't forget when youtubing. Not matter what you record.

I did some neat audio tricks using Audacity, one time I had to try to make me sound like I had a stormtrooper helmet on, it worked out pretty well!

Or we could talk about editing anyway.

I think the guy might have been confused on your term 'editing.' I actually thought you were saying to skip talking about the actual editing process, rather than the software.

But for me, as far as unique apps/software goes, I can't think of anything out of the ordinary. Just standard Premiere Pro (not sure if should be mentioning that, lol). I do my voice overs with this pretty crappy hand held mic. I need to up my mic and audio game! Audacity seems to be the program for that.
