What is considered a SUCCESSFUL total view count? (Opinion)

1 million views. I feel my channel is not very good and I am close to 100,000. If I can hit 1 million I will feel semi-successful. I don't know if I will ever get there, but I'm going to try!

I do try to think about it in terms of positive feedback, responses in comments, thumbs up etc, but if I were to define how I want our subscriber to view count conversion, I would say that we are aiming for 20%of subscribers/view ratio as the next goal. On average, we are around 18% at the moment :) But as someone already mentioned, retention is super important! :) Hope this helps, best of luck! :)

Although views and subs are great. I think that engagement is the most critical part. You need to have viewers who are interested in engaging with you via comments, thumbs up, tweets, etc. They are your brand ambassadors, and they will be the ones to help you grow. Usually I say 10% of a view to sub ratio is good, but that doesn't mean much if they are not engaged.

I don't have any thoughts on overall channel views, but I personally have always felt around 40k views per video is the minimum before I'd consider it successful on a low level.

I think people should see what their utmost potential is and reaching it, you could call yourself successful. In my case, with my talents and the kind of content I create, I was hoping to get 10.000 views at the end of 2015. That would be a massive achievement for me :). Reaching that and I think I'm successful for myself :).

I share the same feelings about it. I have a channel which is far from perfect. But I'm already at it, so I'm going to try hitting the 1 million mark too...

I feel that views and engagement are more important then subs when it comes to a youtube channel. What do you feel counts as a successful total view count?
I personally feel retention is most important but if you want to go by views I guess it depends on everybody's channel. For me double digits is successful any over 100 is premium and 1K or more is gold.

If you're talking about my own videos, I would aim for 5k each if possible! If you're talking about big big YouTubers, 100k per video is already awesome! :)
