What is considered a good retention rate?

Mine has been slowly but steadily climbing and is now sitting in the 70% range. What is the norm for videos? Is there a range that from YouTube's perspective is considered a "good" view retention level? Thoughts, and Comments are appreciated.

70% is really good! Keep up the good work. What do you feel is keeping people so attentive to your videos?

Honestly I have no idea. Laura and I started the channel because we're going to be moving from the East to West coast of Canada. We wanted to work on our editing, and filming skills so that we could present consistent content to our friends and family daily once we were on the road.

We try to be genuine on our channel, and not waste people's time. Our Vlogs the last week have crept up in time but generally sit around 5-6 minutes in length. In addition we try to engage with those who comment (all positive to date, but no doubt we'll have negative feedback at some point) on our videos in a timely manner.

At 1,000 views it's a small sample to look at. I notice your most recent videos are longer than the previous ones which were in the 2-3 minute range. How are the retention on the newer/longer videos individually? That could be a better indicator of your hooking power.
