What is an effective marketing strategy ?

Hey guys, I just started doing YouTube and uploaded my first video.
Now I just need to show it to people that are interested to watch that type of video.
So there is social media like Twitter, facebook etc,...
But I was wondering, what kind of social media was the most effective ?
I know that some people will say like : Facebook worked really good for me, someone else says :
Instagram is a really great way to promote your video's.

But isn't there a social media platform that worked for most people ?
Maybe it's a stupid question but I just had to ask this.

Hmm maybe I would give Twitter a try if you say so,
but reddit is really complicated, I just don't know how to start.
For example : How do you get karma on reddit ?

Reddit is good if you post 9 responses for every targetted post you have. Post in subreddits that are in the niches your channel or videos are
