What is a good retention rate?

My videos average around 50%, but I think it depends heavily on the content you're creating.

Long videos struggle with keeping up the retention rate and it also depends on the kind of content you're making. Some of my guides for example have a little lower retention rate, since it's been posted on reddit and people tend to just click on the video there and close it pretty fast again.

For me, its 50%... Now im at 55%, but my goal is 60%....

49% here and I'm one of the channels with "longer videos". I don't know if that's good or bad. I'm still working on reasonable ways to make them shorter.

Wow watching all those high numbers make me feel a bit bad, my retention rate is increased lately and I'm sitting to 15% (maybe it's because my channel is still young or maybe the old videos are reducing the overall retention or maybe it's because LP channels grow a bit slower).

No worries, it'll grow with time. I used to be at 30% mostly.

Having a smaller channel like yours doesn't represent the retention rate properly since the numbers are so low. Just a few people need to click on your video and close it after a few seconds again and it'll drop your retention rate drastically.

Your videos are very long though, and I believe the ranking algorithm takes that into account. You may have more watch time than someone with higher retention and shorter videos (like me.)

Well apart from the first 2 or 3 the other ones are in the normal range, between 15 and 20 min. For being LP's they have the right length IMHO.

35% for me over the life of my channel. My videos are long at times, and I bet there are a lot of people that won't sit trough it. I don't care tho, I am doing this for me and those that do sit trough the entire video.
