What if I recorded @ 30fps but rendered @ 60fps

Monthly Video Game Giveaway on my channel now!
As you know, YouTube will now be supporting 60fps video. Is it okay to record 30fps video then render it @ 60fps video? I usually record 60fps then render @ 30fps but there's this game which is locked @ 30fps.

It would probably look exactly the same but with a larger file size. Recording at 30 fps means there's only 30 frames every second. 60 fps looks smoother than 30 fps because there are more frames, and rendering with a higher framerate won't add in those missing frames, just double the ones already there.

I'm fine with larger files, no disadvantages or whatsoever? like lags on the vids or something?

I would imagine that it would lag the game slightly, as it has to fabricate frames that don't actually exist, so it ends up extending each frame to cover 2 frames. What game is it, you may be able to unlock it!

Like Gaffer said you may experience lag, or the video might even seem slowed down, if the game is fully locked at 30FPS then render in 30FPS, always render files in almost the same setting as the original recording.

And while it may be possible to unlock the FPS, I don't recommend it, if a game is locked to 30FPS then it is for a good reason, I know with Bully Scholarship Edition it was possible to run above 30FPS but it brought glitches.

Wont help, you're just unnecessarily adding extra frames, even if YouTube supported 60fps, exporting a video originally recorded in 30fps won't do anything, it won't even increase the file size. The only thing it will do is increase your render time.

Also the video will be twice as slow. :P
