i wouldnt really say my youtube channel has "taken off" but i got all my initial viewers by sharing it to the friends i made on the internet as no one in real life knows about my channel

Using unethical and generally looked down upon methods such as putting boobs in the thumbnails, using dubidous amounts of dubstep in my videos, oversaturating the whole "montage parody" thing.
Copying other Youtuber's, for example Ssethtzeentach is one of my biggest inspirations, some of my earlier videos were almost complete rip-offs of his, and also tons of luck.

If you're talking strictly growth-wise I'd say my full ad/ap series has done best, in terms of exponential growth, it has the whole "watch one and move on to the next one" aspect down.
