What first attracted you to the Youtubes?

Football and gaming is life
For me it had to be watching fellow gamers, the major one I watched back in the day is an American called Chilled Chaos, so why did you turn to the YouTubes?

Was it a YouTuber you enjoyed watching? or just thought you had too much to give and life gave you a platform?

Just interested in finding out the whys from the community :D

it was a new site that let you upload video. Unlike deviantART, so I put my animations there. And opened my world of entertainment up to anime AMVs and youtube poops haha xD

Because of the CREATIVE FREEDOM!!!

Nobody telling what you put on your videos. You can do anything you want with the usual restrictions of course.

Also, I see a lot of awesome videos or films that are done so good. So good that it even exceeds the tv shows or movies that you have to pay to watch it. O.O

What attracted me to YouTube was that I could make videos with my friends, its was pretty cool and then I got really into it so here I am :)

Two things -
One is the same as you - saw other people foing gaming videos and I really wanted to try it.
But also, I did a lot of videos for school projects and after a while I realized I just really loved the process of putting together a video and getting a laugh or two out of it.

i think it was how much music i was capable to consume on youtube and learn about music artists through all the documentaries put on youtube. yeah that attracted me.

Mostly I did YTP type stuff, such as finding music videos, then finding another version sung by the other gender and dubbed the audio over, and uploading it because I thought it was really funny. I'd probably get hammered so bad if I did it today with the current copyrite situation on Youtube.
Made a few amateur sketch videos.

And also uploaded cool video game clips and tricks, before anybody was really thinking about trying to make a name in the gaming part of youtube. I had a livestream that I'd get 300-800 people at once, but wasn't able to keep up with it and honestly didn't think much of it at the time. It was more like it was just other people interested in the game that wanted to see higher ranked play, not some sort of popularity contest like it is today where every channel and stream wants to be "famous". (I was probably wrong about the situation but that's how I viewed it at the time.) The only way I knew how to make money from it was by giving lessons for like $10 an hour. XD

I guess the biggest "why" was to troll around and be funny. When tag spamming, auto-refreshers, and misleading thumbnails ruled the world.

i wanted to provide entertainment so if someone is having a bad day then they can relax and feel better, i wanted to make a difference to peoples lives

Wow, didn't really think this would get much of a reply so thanks all :D, a lot of varied answers and I guess that's why we all do it. The world is a weird and wonderful place, how could we live in a world witthout YouTube? What did we do before you could waste 6 hours a day looking at cats falling off things

I was watching a LOT of YouTubers (still am watching a lot, who needs television AMIRITE?) and I though by myself: "Man how could would it be to make a channel and actually start uploading videos for myself!"

So yeah, not that exciting but from this day on I am still enjoying making videos!
