What features do you wish to have on youtube?

I agree. YouTube was probably losing money before Google came along. HD videos take up a huuge amount of disk space and use up an even huuuger amount of bandwidth every time someone downloads them. That all costs money and so the business model was never sustainable without Google IMO.
 
A way for bigger/potential subscriber channels to find their way on a page that people looking for new "indie" channels to their channel.
 
A better way to get lesser known channels out there. For example, instead of there being a bunch of famous YTers on the related channels page, they should replace it with youtubers around their own popularity. That way you can find people to collab with or watch.
 
I wish it showed you if your content has copyright in it and stops you before you do the damage. One of those "Are you sure you wanna post this video?" Type of deals.

Absolutely on the ball. One of the main problems why it couldn't keep up without Google handling it was because the servers for YouTube videos were expensive, which is why the upload limit was only 10 minutes before the "improvements".

Also there was the major problem of piracy and copyright infringement and threats of shutting the site down, which is why the advertisements came into play.

After that it just went ALL downhill from there and where we are today. I have to use a f*****g AdBlock extension just to watch videos without waiting for the stupid a** 3 minute movie trailers and s****y Machinima commercials of stuff I'm guaranteed to never EVER watch in my intentional lifetime.
 
I wish YouTube added some support options again. There are some questions that just can't be answered by the help articles.
 
I'd like to be able to see who "liked" my videos. Seeing your dislikers wouldn't be good (not that I would mind it, but it would create a lot of drama with immature people), but I'm always curious as to who clicked the thumbs-up button on my videos.
 
I can't wait until I get the new "Best Fans" feature, it looks so cool and now I can know who the best of my fans are! I think it will be cool to use that as an incentive to do giveaways and then that could boost you up, I don't know it just seems like a cool thing to have :)
 
I agree with the white background! I have sensitive eyes and it hurts me to look at white screens for extended periods of time.

The music feature they added is great!
