What Equipment do you use for filming your videos?

i use a canon t3i. (soon canon 6d) multiple lens. my favorite is my 50mm f1.4. rhode video mic pro. upgrading to the NTg-2 when i have funds. my trusty tripod. also my dolly, shoulder stabilizer. mono pod, and my blue mic for voice over work[DOUBLEPOST=1377186990,1377186908][/DOUBLEPOST]also the entire adobe suite[DOUBLEPOST=1377187091][/DOUBLEPOST]
Panasonic SD90 (tried Canon 650D but hated it)
Samson USB Condenser Microphone
Tripod
Motorized Rotating turntable

VGJFelix

you should have tried downloading magic lantern. turns canon cameras into a beast[DOUBLEPOST=1377187168][/DOUBLEPOST]
Not to burst your bubble but the video auto focus on the T3i sucks! Noisy, constantly on the move. I have one and it is a great camera but not for video. I used it in one video, I let it focus and then turned the auto focus off. Good thing it was just a vlog or it would not have worked.

you should never use any automatics on a camera. go full manual you will have way more control with the camera

Canon 7D + 16-35mm L f2.8, 28mm f1.8, 24-105 L f4 is my main body and glass
Rode VideoPro Mic + Blue Yeti are my mics (outdoors vs indoor recording)
Manfroto video pro head + mono pod + tripod
Various LED attachments for lighting if needed.

What I do want is to eventually upgrade to the 5D MIII to film and getting a full glide cam harness and bionic arm :pompus:

sounds expensive. I want the 5d mark III also. But honestly with ,the 6d get a full frame sensor. Just as good as the 5d just a little bit cheaper of body. For 1000 less[DOUBLEPOST=1377191846,1377191826][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah the 6D is nice but for that extra grand you get quite a few features:

double memory cards means less time lost switching cards, I cover events so that is a perk not to miss performances due to card full. Larger screen, quicker shutter, higher FPS shooting raws.

The extra grand can buy me part of a new prime lens, but those perks are worth it imo.

yeah i guess you go by what you need. the 5d mark III is just so out of my price range. i can barely afford the 6d

Here is my setup that I use, of course not all of it is used all the time.

Canon Vixia HFS20 --Love it!
Canon DM100 mic
Audio Technica Pro88W-R35 Wireless Mic with the included lavalier mic
Ravelli ATD tripod
Pico Flex Dolly
Canon T4i with a couple different "kit" lenses
JVC - Camcorder, forget the model but it is an HD and was like $150
5 - 2000 watt Softbox lights, combo of ePhoto and Cowboy Studio
Cowboy Studio green screens
Contour HD for in game footage
Corel Video Studio Pro X5 for editing.
Then I also have a 12 channel mixer and nice studio mic, forget the brands.

I shoot all my videos on a Nikon d600. Audio with a Rode Videomic Pro and a Rode lavalier connected an Zoom H4N. Dual system audio is the way to go :)

Adobe CC to bring it all together.

Camtasia for screen captures, otherwise:
  • Canon Rebel T2i loaded with latest Magic Lantern firmware.
  • 18-55mm kitlens, Canon 50mm f1.8, Samyang 14mm f2.8 and Samyang 7mm f2.8 fisheye lens.
  • Sturdy Manfrotto tripod, additional handle for mounting on camera for handheld shots.
