what editing software?

From a professional designer: It depends on what is available and what your needs are.

If you are a student in high school with no money then use Windows Movie Maker. If you are a professional director/editor with lots of special effects then use Adobe Premiere (It streamlines to After effects).
 
I use camtasia 8, I tried sony vegas but I wanted to rip my hair out... I couldn't figure out anything because I was so used to using camtasia, and someone recommended I try vegas to give my videos more flair... while that might be fine and dandy for him, but it wasn't for me....

call me simplistic but I like a editing software without alot of bells and whistles because I don't wish to distract my viewers from the video, but rather have them enjoy the time I spent on creating such video...
