What Editing software to use?

For my Pro Clubs series i use my Elgato software so i just have the highlights then put that into final cut pro x to add some little effects. But if i am going to do a montage i will sue after affects and sometimes Cinema 4d. I currently have a 2.3ghz quad-core i7 mac mini with 16gb ram hooked up to 2 23" ips monitors i also have 7tb of external storage because for me a 1 hour clip will take over 20gb

I use Sony vegas pro 12 and never looked back. So easy to use and a fantastic editing software, in my opinion.

I use Magix Video Pro X5.

It does everything Premiere Pro does, has a fully integrated Audio Mastering Suite besides, thus doing the jobs of Premiere and Audition at the same time as it can record as well as master, plus you don't need a monthly Cloud Computing Subscription to use it. One time licensing fee (cheaper than the one time license for Premiere used to be), automatic online upgrades when needed and available; a nice add on content download included, and you are good to go!

I don't use :) I don't have a clue about recording and editing videos.
For me editing means set start point and end point in Movie Maker :)
Probably that's why I'm such a small channel :)

I use various editing software, all for different purposes.

Windows Live Movie Maker - General purpose for footage recorded via Fraps or HyperCam
Pinnacle Studio 14 HD Ultimate Collection - For use with the Dazzle DVC100
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 - For use with Hauppauge HD PVR. Also used with Fraps for Skyrim content.
Camtasia Studio 8 - Only used when recording with the Camtasia Recorder (which is only for content which Fraps cannot hook into)

I love Sony Vegas 12. I started with Lightworks, and that has a learning curve that is terrible for beginners who have never done any video editing before. I don't really use any sound editing software but I own a copy of Audactiy (not sure if I should start using it or if my voice over is alright).
