What Editing Software Do You Use?

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro, but previously I used Sony Vegas on my PC. Now I use FCP7 and I'm still trying to get used to it!! Would you prefer FCP7 or FCPX?

I don't know anything about FCP7 or FCPX but i use Sony Vegas Pro as my main editing software.

I'd advise staying away from FCX. They took everything that worked with FC7 and ruined it lol. It is more of a simple basic editor.

But as for what I use... I am an Adobe guy all the way. I love using the suite to it's potential. The transitioning between After Effects and Premiere is so seamless and I can rip out work.

I think it's an unpopular opinion but I really like FCPX! I couldn't get my head around FCP7. FCPX is a LOT easier to use- it's basically a souped up iMovie.

I think a lot of the pro editors moved to the Adobe suite after FCPX was released- it wasn't really a popular update. I think it just depends on what your own needs are for your editing software. X suits me down to the ground as someone who really enjoys editing as a hobby and wanted more options than iMovie offers.

Each to their own- I did say that it was not a popular upgrade and a lot of editors subsequently moved to Adobe. I find it fits my needs really well, but it's not for everyone.
