What DSLR ?

Nikon D5200 or D5100 which is close enough if you want to save some money. T3i could sell for around that price without lens. Nikon D5200 is around $550-600 body only. Try ebay, you can always see how reputable a seller is by their stars.

That Nikon actually is more expensive than the Canon. It's decent, but Canon > Nikon for video.

The Canon t2i or t3i is an excellent choice, I've use one and it's never let me down with it's great image

There's not a whole lot of choice really at that price bracket. The T3i is a great camera at that price bracket, but if your looking for options something You could maybe grab a Panasonic GH2 off ebay, it's a few years old now, but in my opinion a great camera. I own a GH3 and I love it to bits

Who uses dslr only for video? I bought it mainly for video but after seeing the possibilities with a manual camera, I'm using it more for pictures than video. I know not everyone will be same way, just wanted to point out how much I love my dslr
