What do you want to achieve?

The main reason I have a channel is so I can look back at all the places my family has traveled in Korea. My son is 21 months as of this post, and I want him to be able to see that he has been here. He has a cameo in most, if not all, of the videos.

Also, when I want to look back because I miss a certain aspect of the country or want to remember the fun we had, I want to watch videos in a certain style. I'm not really seeing that style out there, so I made it.

On the side, I can also help people find new places to explore and experience Korea.

That's what I want to achieve. Personal continuity and a database of experiences. Others may benefit from that and join the ride if they choose =)

I want to have a community of people who are my friends, at least in the internet sense :) I just really enjoy talking to all my viewers :D Long term it would be great to have YouTube as a job but I personally don't see that happening for a while :')

Honestly it'd be amazing to be able to do this full time, but that's not really a goal I have in mind. I'm happy with my channel currently, I may not have 10k subs or make tons of money but the following I do have means a lot to me, and the revenue I make pays for the hobby itself. The overall goal when I made my channel was to help people through Dark Souls 2, as it received a ton of hype and people new to the series were going to be flocking in. After that was finished my goal became to build a community of people that I could talk with, and play games with.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I'll ever accomplish that goal completely as it's something that I continuously will want throughout my time on Youtube.

World domination.

But realistically, to work on music with some other musical youtubers would be great and to have people like my own stuff. Really would like to do more collabs even if it means holding a camera for a guy or helping with a prank or other thing somehow. It's just that nobody around me does these things.

We want to be the premiere destination for kid/family content without losing substance.

Personally I'd say all of the above is valid.

- Being a Musician, Youtube is a way to get yourself out there. People can check your chops out etc.
- Fame? Sure why not! If you like what I'm doing, then by all means share it and spread the word. haha
- Money? It'd be pretty sweet to do it as a job, but I think sincerely that it's a 1 to 100 chance of successfully having it pay your bills.

I agree, I make enough to pay one of my bills a month if I need to. I usually put the money right back into the hobby though, buying new equipment and things of that nature.

One of my main motivations is to express myself through the medium of video :)
If other things happen (in the far far future) then that would be a nice bonus xD

I think almost every youtuber is secretly dreaming of some kind of acknowledgement or fame. Wich i think is Ok , you should be able to dream big. Dont block yourself before you even started :)
For me i would love to have some subbers who will check out my video's on regular basis who i also can communicate with. But my biggest goal is to upload my music "for the world to see" aka. share it with alot of people. Like i said in another topic , you never know who might be listening. I think everyone would love to make a living with what they love doing most. right now i just upload the video's when i make them . Because even if i never get a big audience i just love doing music !

I would love youtube as a job, that is my realistic unrealistic dream. My unrealistic dream being a published professional author (publishers don't like new comers)

For now, I'll settle for having a sub who loves my content. That is all.

Baby steps man. Baby steps.
