What do you like to see in a YouTuber?

Things you admire about YouTubers?

heres my short list of things I really admire in a YouTuber:

- (1) People that reply to their commenters, especially ones that ask questions or give feedback.
(I really like seeing popular tubers do this, as so many of them tend to just ignore comments all together, it takes extra effort and I think it's well worth it)

- (2) People that take the time to thank their audience when they achieve YouTube fame.
(I recently subbed to a guy named raedwulfgamer, hes pretty popular and shortly after I subbed he managed to reach his 100,000 sub goal and nabbed himself the awesome silver play button. He dedicated a video to it and selflessly thanked everyone. He was very genuine and It makes me like him a lot more than a few of the more popular tubers.)

- (3) People that obviously put a lot of effort into their videos.
(no explanation needed. You know em when you see em!)

- (4) People than can be naturally funny.
(I subbed a popular tuber called AlphaOmegaSin, and he does 10 minute long rants, some of the funniest stuff, and never cuts his video. just one long rant with no edits. I cant imagine trying to be funny and talk off the top of my head like that... skill!)

- (5) People that apply feedback, and can realise mistakes and apologise.
(We're all imperfect, and we will all make mistakes, it takes a bigger person to accept and acknowledge those mistakes. A heartfelt apology is ALWAYS better than an 'explanation of why you were right and the viewers were wrong'. ...Im looking at you Sam Pepper....:rolleyes:)

so what are some of the things you guys admire in a YouTuber?
Do you agree or disagree with my points?
 
What I look for that I think appeals to a lot of people generally is personality (likability). Humor and charm and all that is nice too.

What I look for specifically because it appeals to me personally is people who put some thought into how they can make the world a better place. I am somewhat put off by people who just work on how we can pass the time. I feel like life is too short for that and there are too many problems in need of addressing.

Mostly agree. Accept I completely understand when youtubers can't respond to all (or even any) of their comments. I follow a bunch of youtubers who aren't even all that fancy with a computer and definitely don't upload their own content. I'm much happier if they just say what they need to say on camera rather than hiring some person to pretend to be them and answer 50 gagillion innane bits of trolling drek.

Yeah, I can imagine having a lot of comments to be too much of a time waster to answer them all, especially for larger youtubers. And some comments just dont need replying too at all.
 
- Creators who interact with their subscribers on YouTube and other social platforms
- Someone with a bit of personality
- Everyday people i.e. someone who has a life outside of YouTube/who does their own housework etc.
- Someone that cares and is passionate about what they do - it's pretty obvious when your heart isn't in a video
 
Follow through on expectations. For example, if a YouTuber says new videos every Wednesday I better see a new video every Wednesday and not every 5 weeks. Why bother making expectations if you aren't going to follow though, you just disappoint me.
 
What I want to see in a YouTuber is my name in their subscriptions.
No just kidding, would be cool though.
(Note: everything that has an underscore and is written in Italic isn't really important but me slowly getting offtopic lol)

I like YouTubers who make interesting videos and stuff that hasn't been done before or just make their videos in their own creative style and keep making those videos, like Supermac18 does for example.

At some point that kind of YouTuber becomes my favourite YouTuber and I wouldn't mind if he/she/their dog would make the same kind of videos that any YouTuber do, as long as it doesn't become their standard type of videos.
Example: There was this channel that used to make Awesome sketches and films but nowadays just makes challenge videos.

Since Google+ I barely pay attention to YouTube comments since I still are a non-Google+ user.
Also a good thing because sometimes reading comments is either fun, especially with hilarious top comments.
Or it's just an argument which I always try to ignore but it sometimes ruins my mood because the video is fun but the comments that the video is receiving are either mean or an argument about nothing.
Also the kind of comments where someone just asks a simple question or a question that sounds stupid but the person itself just has a question and gets rude replies.
I'm still waiting for the day that either YouTube disables G+ comments or G+ in general or forces every channel into G+.

Anyways, humor is always an Awesome thing and if the person is not being funny but actually just wants to show something creative or has some Awesome facts or anything in that is just totally Awesome because I enjoy watching a YouTube video and actually learning something from it, especially if it's a fact or a joke.

Sometimes there are YouTubers who I like but they make videos that I either don't enjoy or I'm too old to understand the joke.
Back in 10th grade I was always one of the first people from my friends or class to know what the newest memes were or what was trending.
As far as I can remember I was one of the first people at school to say "Cool story bro, want a sticker?"
I also used to do a high school student impression in the 4th grade where I would simply just say "yo dude" and everyone would laugh at me and say that it's a stupid impression while everyone says it nowadays but that's a different story lol
Nowadays everyone uses that sticker quote and it became too boring.
And I never know what is the funny right now while nowadays 10th graders are the ones who know what's a trending funny thing.

But yea, there's this YouTuber that makes the same kind of videos that I feel like are more aimed towards 6th graders college students (in a positive way)
I have no idea if I like or dislike the user but I would still watch their videos when I see them.

For some reason I can't stand reuploaders, I always want to watch a video on YouTube and by the original uploader so I know that I supported the user with their video.
I get annoyed when I see a channel trying to make money off reuploaded videos (not sure if claimed by user or by actual network) or when I see reuploaded videos on Facebook pages and leaving the user uncredited and all they get back for it are likes.

Wow, I hate it when teachers do not get to the point but here I am getting distracted by my own words lol

I've had a few people reupload my videos, and say its fine as long as they don't out right say anywhere that they made it. I asked for a few to take them down and they did, but the ones that diddnt got on my nerves...
I've even had people just cut the video just before the credits and pass it off as their own.

I don't mind as much people redubbing for other languages as long as they don't monetise it, but the new youtube feature that allows commenters to add their own subtitled translations is interesting :D

Yea that's pretty annoying.
If someone ever reuploaded my videos I still can claim them and either block or monetise the video with my Network.
 
There isn't any magic formula that will have me subscribing to someone. Other than them being entertaining, I think being humble and genuine go a long way as well.

Probably because every aspect of making videos turns out to be harder than they expected. Coming up with good ideas and editing in particular are the two things that stump a lot of youtubers who did fully expect to put out a new video every Wednesday but now it's a year later and they're embarrassed or have given up are are waiting for that one magical burst of inspiration.
