Actually it's probably the worst, Gimp would be nearly on par with Ps and is free.

I use both Illustrator and Photoshop CC.

For editing I use Vegas, but slowly moving to Premier.

For recording it's Dxtory, works with every game perfect without fail.

And for audio editing it's Audacity.

Oh yea i forgotten about Gimp too lol I have it on my Lap but seldom use it now adays.
I used Audacity as well forgotten to mention that lol:bounce:

I'd recommend OBS over Fraps. Fraps will give you very large video files, OBS can record in an already compressed format so you reduce the chances of having to use Handbrake to compress it. Unless you don't plan on storing the raw videos for too long.

Hi yeah, once my videos are uploading to youtube ill be removing them from my computer so i am not using up too much space.
 
Thought i'd hop on the train and give you some deets about software I use!

>Fraps for PC recording
>Windows Sound Recorder for commentaries (not live)
>Corel Video Studio Pro X6 (Final Edit)

>Banner/Profile Picture/Thumbnails - Photoshop CC

Pretty expensive setup but i've been using it for a long time!

(My channel is new and starting later this week)
 
As I've just started I didn't want to invest so use Sony Cybershot DSC-TX10 or samsung galaxy S5 to record.
To edit, iMovie (but it slows down my laptop i might change soon)
For the voice over i use garage band with mic from my headphone (very basic I know)

And that's about it. My banner/profil and outtro was done in Photoshop by my sister.
 
I use the adobe creative suite for my editing because I had to buy it for school! I shoot with a canon 60D and I use different types of mics for recording! do some reasearch and I'm sure you'll find something that fits into your groove of needs!
