What do I do? Someone asked me why I don't comment on their videos

Rachael

I Love YTtalk
So I am having a Q&A soon and I asked my subscribers to comment their questions. Someone who is a big supporter asked me why I don't comment under their videos. I have looked at this person's content but I don't really like their videos. It's not like I can just ignore it because I reply to all the comments, as there is only about 20 under each video. How do I tell them that I don't really do the whole support for support thing?

Are you subbed to them? Do you know them?
Tell them that you don't really have anything to say about their content. That it just says enough of what it is from the video and you don't feel the need to comment :)

Well if you're not interested then I would figure out a kind way of telling them that. A let them down easy kind of thing. As I'm sure you don't want to lose a big supporter.

Either that, or just give them a message or two every now and then. Because to be honest, they are helping your channel by supporting you. At least give them something back.

you could say that their videos aren't the genre of videos that you watch so you don't feel the need to comment

You just have to be honest with them, but also be as polite as possible. When someone asks me something like that, I will tell them something like "I will have to check out some of your newer videos, but I can't promise that I'll have time to support your content frequently". That's all I've got.

Just reply on one or two, they will be happy and wont take much time out of your day. You only have to say, good job or nice video my friend, it will really motivate them.

Aside from what's been stated, this isn't really your responsibility. You shouldn't feel forced to return support just because they've given you some. I feel like that's an unfair burden to place on someone. Not everyone will like what their subscribers do and that's okay. Be polite and honest with them, and if you really want to, check out their stuff and comment, but don't feel like that's something you /have/ to do.

I completely agree. You're not obligated. If they're only supporting you in hopes of you returning the favour then you'll lose them eventually anyway.

This is a very tricky question. To be honest if you don't have time just tell them. But the whole point of Youtube is to support one another as small Youtuber, so you should at least watch them once in a blue moon.

If you're not interested in their content (which is fine) just say a polite version of that. You don't have to like everything and people who think they should get something in return for commenting on your videos is ridiculous >< It's up to you what you say though, I hope you work it out <3
