What causes you to UnSubscribe?

If the person don't post videos consistently, and if there quality is lagging every time and if they don't reply to my COMMENTS, I will unsub.
 
I keep my list of channel I'm subscribed to short. Unless I actually regularly watch the stuff, I'll unsubscribe. It's not like a dead subscriber does anyone any favours.
 
I hate it when YouTubers do a lot of s**t and don't apologise. I was watching Santoro for a while and also his vlogs and I felt really connected with him. But then this plagiarism story came up, so i thought he might apologise, which he didn't. Then I found videos of guys proofing that he is still citing wrong sources, which destroyed my perception of him, this is why I unsubscribed. Another reason is if it gets too boring.
 
I usually unsub when I forget why I subbed in the first place. I like to keep my subs neat and tidy and not just have 50 randoms who I never watch mixed in.[DOUBLEPOST=1463675098,1463674975][/DOUBLEPOST]

Kinda funny that if he had just said sorry he would have kept a sub. If I were to do that kind of move I'd just apologize so my fanbase (If I had one) didn't abandon me for a simple failure to do an act.

Exactly, it makes you look more human. Now he is deleting comments, blocks people who confront him and he is going to sit this out. I thought he is a nice guy irl, but I guess I was wrong.

Try to remember as I quote GradeA here who ironically started this. But YouTubers never want to show you who they are, they show you what you want to see. We all do it. It isn't a crime but the big deal is what happens when you try to handle it. Clearly he is having trouble dealing with criticism at the moment.

Completly agree. Everyone has a mask for specific aspects in their lives. But I have to say, I slowly start to believe that the Nicole Arbour story is also crap. She is obviously the typical "bully" you might see as guilty just because of her past, but in the situation you never know what happened in real life. So yes, the Matthew Santoro case is closed. I hope a lot of people learned from the mistakes he made.
 
I unsubscribe when the content is no longer relevant to me. I used to be a big poker addict. But when I retired, I had no reasons to watch those videos. Similarly, I used to be so into pick-up when I was single for many years. Now that I'm in a committed relationship, I see no reasons to watch those videos.

So I think it's important for everyone to evaluate how much in demand is our contents? Is it something that can last for years? Will we have to adapt and pivot our contents in the future? Are we getting new fans and followers faster than they drop?
 
I have unsubscribed from channels who have changed their content radically. Also, if I got an idea of someone's content from a few videos, but it didn't turn out to be the content they made regularly.

I unsubscribed from a couple of channels because I realized that the folks who were behind the channels held some really terrible beliefs that they didn't show in videos that I saw right away, and then I just had to back away from that sort of terrible stuff.
 
When they get stale. Leafy is a huge example. I was subbed when he was small and watched religiously, got bored of every video being the same, resubbed when he was about 1.2 mil subs as it had been a long time, now I'm bored again. If it wasn't so fun watching his subs go up then I would have definitely unsubbed now.
