What can i get away with using? Mario Sound Effects

NothingToDoCrew

YTtalk Mad
Hi guys i am getting ready to film a pretty big budget (big for me because i am poor) project for my youtube channel and the last thing i want is for the video to get flagged.

I am doing a mario golf type video, the music will be royalty free but i am wondering if i can use any sound effects from the mario games. What can i get away with using?

Can i have my mario say "itsa me, Mariooo"
Can i use a spinoff version of the song when he pulls the flag down (maybe a tweaked version so it it's not the same but players would recognize it)
Can i use sound effects, like the fireworks when you beat a level, the sound when you get a mushroom and grow, or the one-up sound effect?

Pleeaseee help!!
Thanks!!!!!

For anything you need, there is a website. Just go around and look.

Brenden, you obviously don't know how the internet works....Why would you become a YTT member (or even comment on this question) if you are going to comment with "go find it on the internet". You could literally say that for every question on here....Technically i am "finding it on the internet" by coming to a website full of people who might have asked or gone through the same thing. I could google it, but for every right answer there's 2 wrong ones and almost no way to tell the difference

Using the sound effects would be copyright infringement. Using the likeness of Mario is trademark infringement. Whether you would get "caught" is another matter, but from a legal standpoint, not every project is legit.

Wouldn't it be ok if it was a parody?

Could you maybe,I don't know...look? I gave a stupid answer to a stupid question. Maybe if you simply typed "royalty free music" you'd find it. Here let me help you since I'm in a GREAT mood. For music,go to teknoaxe.com, for free sounds,go to soundjay.com.

Tada!

Could you maybe, I don't know... actually read the original post and point out where he asked for how to find Royalty Free Music? Since you're in such a great mood.

You gave a stupid answer to a question that was never asked.

Could you perhaps...stop being a potato?

He said he needed sound effects,I gave him a site for that. I gave him the music site as a bonus. Since i'm in such a great mood. Potato.

I wasn't asking about royalty free music or where to find it. I was wondering if i could use slightly modified mario sound effects for my monetized video. I asked around prior to coming here and was unable to find any clear answers. Finally a lawyer friend talked to me about it. If i use altered sound effects, i should be in the clear, however if i use Mario or any of the nintendo characters in my video, thats when things get dicy. He directed me over to this website with some ways to avoid copyright ingringement--fairuse.stanford.edu/overview/fair-use/what-is-fair-use/
