What can i do to improve?

The title says it all what can i do to improve. I'm a gaming channel and I'm having the most difficult time getting noticed i know there is many gaming channels out there but i see c.o.d commentators getting noticed quickly (no hate i swear i'm just saying). Do i need to improve my commentary or my video quality or do more games? Cause i had plans to do many games. I'm just at a loss at what to do. I'm not giving up or anything i just don't know what to do at this point to gain more subs & views & friends.

Growth is incredibly slow until you pick up a few hundred subscribers. Concentrate on putting out really high quality entertaining content, and promoting your videos as much as possible. Also not doing Minecraft will help.

you just need to get out there more, try advertising your channel as creatively as possible :)

I'd change the banner, avatar to something more appealing. Also change your thumbnails to something eye-catching. The titles to your minecraft series seem a little bit too long, i'd shorten them. Also games such as minecraft are overdone, not a lot of people search for minecraft series nowadays. Hope I helped.

Try to promote your channel everywhere but don't spam. Keep making videos and upload often. Work harder on your video and make awesome content

That makes sense i kinda knew its difficult before the first 100 subs and i promote my videos alot but i wonder if minecraft is holding me back[DOUBLEPOST=1375700923,1375700768][/DOUBLEPOST]

I like my banner but... it looks kinda out of place perhaps? & I like making thumbnails but it got more and more difficult to do over time especially cause I'm picky

Every time I see one of these threads I see blame being assigned (not nasty blame, just general blame). One of the first things you did was blame COD gamers.

It isn't their fault. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: unless someone is coming to your channel forcefully trying to drive subs/views away, YOU are the only cause of success/failure.

Very briefly:

Channel Design
Your banner needs re-doing. Generally it looks fine, but add a border or shadow to your name, it kind of merges with the background a little bit. Your avatar and general layout (playlists etc) looks fine.

Commentary
I watched approx 23 seconds of your most recent Minecraft video, and switched it off. You were talking so fast and mumbling over your words so much that I couldn't catch a single word of it.

Slow down, take your time. Don't speak to us like you would your mates in passing - present your show to us like you'd hear a radio presenter or tv presenter speak. Practice makes perfect, but there's no rush to get all your words out at once!

Video quality is decent, no qualms there. Daily uploads is good too. The titles all seem okay and you have a nice range of games to keep people interested. Video length seems decent, not too long or short.

That was it really. Your commentary from my first impression needs a lot of work. If you look at the popular guys - whether you like them personally or not - there is a REASON they are popular. Their delivery is very professional. You can understand what they say and they don't just dictate what's happening on screen 'ok so I am walking through this door, okay I am gonna build this wall right here'.

Hope that helped.

i dont own a gamer channel, but i enjoy watching gamers here and then.

what i look at the most are

  • audio and video quality. please use a good mic and be all hd and stuff..
  • be extraordinary and different. i wont even look at lets plays or walkthroughs with low views or ratings, but on the other side i would watch extraordinary content even with a decent amount of views.
  • be authentic. i think of subscriptions like i think of friendships. i want to get to know the youtubers im subbed to. no pretending and trying too hard to be someone you're not. and facecam could help

Ok first i know i shouldn't have quoted such a long thing and i kinda figured it was commentary i get very nervous when i'm talking cause i stutter etc i should be over this by now i do talk very fast IRL and ur also right i shouldn't have blamed the CoD commentators.

Slightly on a different path here but you mentioned that you wouldn't generally watch someone's video if the views are low. I am a small channel and i am trying to get people in the same position as you to watch my videos, so say the views are kinda low, what would a channel like me(im a gaming channel) have to do to get you to watch my videos or even subscribe?
