What camera should I buy?

Hi guys,

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered thousands of times... so please be patient with me and hopefully provide me with a thoughtful response.

I'm 50+ videos in to YouTube with ~19,000 views and 500+ subscribers. And I've done all of that with a USB HD webcam connected to my desktop computer. (I'm just as surprised as you are)

I love my HD webcam, but it's time for me to upgrade a get a proper vlogging / mobile-can-carry-around-with-me camcorder type deal. I'm going to head into Best Buy (aka Future Shop in Canada) tomorrow and probably pick something up.

Just wondering if you guys have any suggestions?

You don't need to give me a specific make and model, but anything I should be looking out for? Anything I should avoid? Any tips would be super helpful. And keep in mind that my budget isn't unlimited.
 
Well if you are looking for quality get a Cannon EOS series DSLR camera. (This would be either a t4i/t5i or a 7d/60d. You could also look into the Nikon DSLRs, but I prefer Cannon's interfaces and such personally. These are not very mobile though. If you want more mobility, I usually just use my iPhone for those vlogs. I had a Cannon handicam, and the iPhone 5 camera looked as good if not better, and it was more convenient to use.
 
I've been using an HD webcam forever as well, Logitech C910. Unfortunately, I don't really know of any good proper cameras. Good luck in your equipment quest.

They no longer do that. It was taken away about a month ago. Now you get a silver play button.

Take a look at the Sony HDR CX430V. It's the lowest line Sony that has the floating lens block-it's the absolute best image stabilization system on the market. If you take small steps, the system makes it look like you're on rails. The downside is the cost-it's $600, so it's in the same price range as a Canon T3i/T4i kit.
