What are the benefits of having a "verified name" account on Youtube!?

Just as we can file a copyright claim if someone takes our videos, they can file a claim if someone tries to impersonate their channel. Also, it lets everyone know that it is the real channel. This is often helpful for music artists who have hundreds of thousands of people making fake channels of them and they upload their videos.
 
If you have it, it's no real benefit to gaining subs or views, it just lets people know you are the real person and no one impersonates you, you won't gain that much from it in terms of stats. :)

Well, maybe not give you subs but it would be weird if the verified account didn't get prioritized in searches on that keyword.

like if I were to search for boobs, I hope that youtube shows me the real deal and not the fake ones.
 
It is useful, there is some fake account that ask from the sub money or else !
You will have bad reputation if that happened to you ! :/
 
If my channel became well known, I'd have to verify my channel as the real "93599 Productions", which is the name of the channel. The tick would be fun to obtain.
