What am I doing wrong? Almost a year barely any traffic :(

You should give stumbleupon a try. Try to build up a Google+ page as well. You should include the links to your twitter, G+, and FB accounts in your sig as well. Cross-prmotion has helped me quite a bit.
I've never tried Stumbleupon any tips? :L[DOUBLEPOST=1382734129,1382734078][/DOUBLEPOST]
Play mario 64 in hardcore style :) like if you lose you get to start over again from the scratch ^^ makes it fun to see how you would reacte hehe :) that is one ide but there are alot more things you could do.. ^^
haha sounds like i'd get very annoyed very quick! i'll keep thinking :P

Can you suggest anywhere else apart from: Here, Se7ensins, TheTechGame, twitter and Facebook to promote and advertise to?
I can't mention them here, but there's a good 20+ other YouTube forums for you to advertise on :p at least 10 of which have over 1,000 members

I actually see Spyro being done a lot when people have a "retro games" play through. Heck I remember having someone comment on my channel for me to play Spyro before.

What's been suggested is good advice, all I can add to it is don't forget to share your videos and channel on social media sites like twitter, facebook, google +, pinterest, tumblr, etc. I noticed you don't have any social media links in your sig so I'm just assuming.

And when I say use them, do NOT just post a link to your video and just say something like "Check out this video *link*" and be done with it. Just like on these forums, you have to be active, talk to people with similar interests, and if they like you, they might just check out your channel and if they really like you, they will share it with their followers too.

Also, try being active on other forums too, YTTalk is a great start, but not EVERYONE here is going to be interested in looking at your channel. Maybe try posting around the minecraft forums, or other gaming related forums that are more likely to check out your channel.

Oh and for YTTalk don't forget VIP status lets you share videos in your signature and post in the video section which also helps :)

Here is an example of a good forums that you could join comedygaming.com

It's pretty simple, really. You create and account and share link to your video in the appropriate category. Your Youtube videos even have a direct Stumbleupon sharing link in the "Share" section.
Ah thank you i'll create an account now![DOUBLEPOST=1382734431,1382734308][/DOUBLEPOST]

Hey guys as you can tell by the title my YouTube account has been up for three quarters of a year now and I've gained only 86 subscribers, and barely any of them consistently watch my stuff. I was wondering what am I doing wrong and how can I improve to gain more traffic. I realise its not all about traffic and stuff but it get's to a point where you have to question yourself. So please check out my channel and videos to put some suggestions!

Keep your walkthrough's or let's play consistent. People will loose interest if you wait to long with the next episode and will look someone else let's play and don't have a reason to view or subscribe to your channel.

Ask yourself "How would I find my videos buried in the sea of 10s of thousands of other Amnesia videos?". The amount of competition in gaming is staggering.

If it was me and i am also new i would use tags that are relevant to your video. just adding BIG youtubers names in your tags may get you a couple of views but that's probably it. If you take them all out the related tags are pretty good.

There are a lot of YouTube gamers out there, so it is really tough for some people to start up. I'm struggling like crazy right now because some of the games I'm playing are already played by bigger YouTubers. You just need to find that game where no one has not played, but theres a catch to that, people aren't searching for those games either. @uberdanger He had said many times, Let's Play is the worse way for channel growth.

It's not about finding a game noone plays, it's about making unique content which is widely appealing and can cause a lot of traffic.
