Weird 301 Views thing--not the typical one though

David Stoll

Not to be taken seriously
So, you probably know that videos stop counting at 301 for a while, so YouTube can make sure the views are real. My channel trailer has been stuck at 301 for a couple weeks now, but here's the weird thing. According to my analytics, the trailer has only 215 views, which seems about right. Weird, yeah?

My theory: The auto-plays (the channel trailer) doesn't count as a view by Analytics. Your got 215 real views (real clicks). The 301+ thingy did record the auto-plays by the visitors of your channel to become 301.

Very clever! I bet that is correct. Now I have to figure out why 215 people would make the mistake of clicking on my trailer on purpose. There really is no theory to explain that!

Nope, I'm at a loss too :happy:. I think it's the same as thousands listening to me on purpose. Ignore the theories and just keep it as it is.

It may be that there are 215 unique views of your trailer? Because I remember reading somewhere that the reason videos get stuck at 301 is sometimes because that's the point at which YouTube stops counting multiple views from the same accounts...?
