webcam for gaming vids or not?

MrSkerzzzz

I've Got It
I have a gaming channel (MrSkerz Has Gamez) but dont have many videos yet. i have been using FRAPS until a friend told me about OBS and the last video i recorded (its not up yet) i used OBS. I recorded Loadout and the game froze a few times until clicked once and i had to use the Window capture not game capture so i gotta fix that somehow. but anyway.... i recorded myself with my webcam as well as the game this time with myself in the corner of the game kind of like what PewDiePie does. i dont know if i like it very much though. i might try it a few more times but not very often. do you guys use a webcam when you make videos that are screen captures of some kind? if yes, did you always like having youself on the video like that? if you didnt at first but do now, how did you get over that?

When I do gaming videos I don't use face cam, I like doing it old school/ too lazy to set it up.
But i use console, so I just need a capture software for the game and my sound software for my mic audio.

I've been trying out FFsplit for various applications. It's young but a nice alternative to Xsplit. At least it's free. Also, the webcam I have is a Logitech c920. It's pretty good quality, but Logitech's microphones do not have a high SPL so you're probably better off with a good headset. I lost interest in recording game footage after hearing about all the copyright stuff but for the sake of watching players' reactions, which can be really funny sometimes, I think it's better to have a facecam.
