I use a watermark through out my whole video and it is very clear and stands out., I have to use it as I am not in the videos and it is always different people I film for so people could easily reclaim them but now it would be more difficult for them!

I watermark all my videos for a simple reason, i post and upload them at other places other then youtube and having a name on the videos that is clearly readable gives them something to search if they want to find more

I use a watermark when it's filming I'm doing for a convention or a performance piece. Sometimes the person that contracts me actually asks for my watermark... For me it's less stealing protection as it's more so people can recognize videos I film on other channels when I'm not in it or commentating over it.

I use a watermark, not to protect my content (because who would want to steal it), but to have an identifiable brand with my videos.

Well, most people use their logo. You wouldn't use software to do it.
