Voice Recording Program

Hey there guys. I have a question about what sound recording program to use. I make game videos and I use Fraps to record the footage, and Audacity to record my voice. While I love Audacity and there is nothing crazy wrong about it, I have a slight problem. Whenever I record something in Fraps and Audacity Ill match up the two separate recordings in a video editor (Sony Vegas Pro). Unfortunately, my Fraps recordings seem to take get unsynched later on in the video. Probably after about 10 minutes or so. Pretty much, is there any program like Audacity that is free and has good reviews? Thanks!

Hello :)

To me, this doesn't sound like the problem is your recording software at all but a syncing issue. Sounds like you are not syncing up the audio accurately so it appears out after a while.

You could always switch to a program like DxTory that allows you to record multiple audio devices at the same time to make the process easier? Also if you have a NVidia graphics card you could look at Shadowplay.

But if you don't want to make the switch, I don't think the issue is Audacity.

I could try using Dxtory because I do know that it has great quality but I'm not as fond of using it because of its interface. I know for sure though that my audio is synched properly though at the beginning and for a chunk of the video. Towards the end though it has a tendency to be off be a noticeable amount. I guess ill try out Dxtory recording so thanks for the help.

Fair enough man!

Glad I could help for the most part!

Use OBS.
The person above me also suggested it.

It gives you the power to record to disk, have multiple audio sources, multiple video sources, overlays.. all that good stuff. best of all it syncs everything for you.

It's mainly built to be able to livestream with, but it's got the option to let you save the file to disk as well. Which is just awesome.

Oh, also.. what version of Fraps are you using? because when I used to use fraps it could record my voice and the system audio? you just have to make sure they're both level before recording.
